It is machinable, weldable and has very high strength corrosion resistant. 6061 Aluminium can be welded using all the common welding techniques. Mn 0.15%

Zn 0.25%

Mg 0.8% to 1.2%

Cr 0.04% to 0.35%

Cu 0.15% to 0.4%

Ti 0.15%

Fe 0.7%

Si 0.4% to 0.8%
